Alpine Residence French Alps Studio Piet Boon was commissioned to redesign the interior of a family vacation retreat in one of the most idyllic and peaceful locations known to the French Alps. A region once known as a farmer village and now well known as a high-end ski village, famous for its typical chalets. Respecting the monumental architecture of the chalet and working closely with the client and a highly skilled local architect, we transformed the existing authentic wooden chalet into the perfect intimate family holiday home. An impeccable luxury alpine residence. By both designing new- and redefining areas yet leaving all original features intact, an effortless flow and maximization of living space was realized. Boasting various living quarters, a terrace with panoramic view, multiple bed- and bathrooms, a wellness and dry room, the interior design of the chalet allows for large gatherings with family and friends. In answer to the client’s wish for an intimate family home and passion for colors and materials, we used rich subdued hues and lush natural materials to fill the chalet with a sense of softness and warmth.
