Marriott Hotel Amsterdam Appointed by Marriott Hotel Amsterdam, Studio Piet Boon was tasked with the refurbishment of 396 guest rooms, emphasizing the Marriott service excellence and innovative spirit. Inspired by the ‘brutalism’ movement, our aim for the interior design of the guest room was to optimize the use of space and create a warm contemporary atmosphere. In doing so, we chose to convey honest architectural elements, raw yet refined materials, thoughtful detailing and well-thought out spaces that together form a balanced whole. Rethinking the hotel room configurations has led to more generous proportions and clever solutions that meet today’s modern guest requirements and give the impression of an enlarged space.
