To Mette and Jens, no place in the world is better than this, the unspoiled landscape on the beautiful Danish coast. The couple was quite familiar with the area and never had any doubts that Vig was where they wanted to live out their retirement years.

In close cooperation with the couple, architect Mette Lange designed this dream home. The result is a functional and modern wooden house with clean lines and a transparent design that offers a clear view of the surrounding reed forest, beach meadow and coast.

The style is simple, and much of the furniture consists of heirlooms. The light Dinesen Douglas floors tie the rooms together and create a calm, warm atmosphere. Throughout the house, large windows draw light and nature in, and this interaction between indoor and outdoor spaces is one of Mette and Jens’ favourite features of the place.

The spacious living room with windows on both sides is the heart of the home. From here, the couple enjoy the varying expressions of the seasons. In the winter, they light a fire in the open fireplace, and in the summer, the large windows can be slid aside. The living room offers access to an open atrium where the couple can enjoy their lunch, sheltered from the wind from the open land.

宽敞的起居室两边都有窗户，是家庭的心脏。从这里开始，这对夫妇享受不同季节的表现。冬天，他们在露天的壁炉里生火，夏天，大窗户可以滑到一边。客厅提供了通往开放式中庭的通道，夫妻俩可以在那里享受午餐，不受风的影响，远离开阔的土地。
