Nightingale Lane House is a semi-detached house redefined by London-based Inter Urban Studios.

A young couple purchased an un-modernised semi-detached Arts and Crafts-style home ‘between the Commons’ to create a new family home in a conservation area. Keen on both the original features of the house and the textural quality of board-formed concrete, we envisioned a folding plane of concrete that wrapped up, down, and over to sculpt a new kitchen and living area. This exciting concept actually draws upon the traditions of Arts and Crafts to create a modern, hand-crafted extension that refers to it’s host structure through the construction process whilst presenting an unapologetic of-its-time design.

一对年轻夫妇购买了一套非现代化、半独立的工艺风格的“公地间”住宅，以便在保护区内建立一个新的家庭住宅。我们对房子的原始特征和板状混凝土的结构质量都很感兴趣，我们设想了一个由混凝土组成的折叠平面，它被包裹，向下，并覆盖着一个新的厨房和生活区。这一令人兴奋的概念实际上借鉴了传统的工艺，创造了一个现代的，手工制作的扩展，指的是它的主机结构，通过建造过程，同时提出一个毫无歉意的时间设计。
