Located in São Bento neighbourhood in Lisbon, Portugal, this short rental delight mixes the character and charm of old Lisbon apartments and the conform of a contemporary home. The renovation work was commission to Portuguese architect Margarida Matias of Arkstudio, who coordinated the project by distance, as her clients were located in Brazil, in collaboration with AYH a Portuguese agency dedicated to scouting clients for architects and interior designers.

The frequent travels from Brazil to Europe made its owners consider to buy an apartment in Lisbon to stay while they were visiting the country and to rent for short stays while they were back in Brazil.

从巴西到欧洲的频繁旅行使业主们考虑在里斯本购买一套公寓，以便在访问巴西期间居住，并在回巴西期间租短期住宿。

Many old houses in Lisbon have inside rooms with no natural light or air circulation, this project aims to improve the inner quality of the space by opening a whole in a wall of a interior room, without windows.

里斯本的许多老房子都有室内没有自然光线或空气流通的房间，这个项目的目的是通过在没有窗户的室内房间的墙壁上打开一个整体来改善空间的内部质量。

Therefore, the main challenge was to bring natural light into every room of the São Bento apartment. This was resolved by removing one of the walls in this room with no windows and moving the kitchen to this area.

因此，主要的挑战是如何将自然光带入圣·本托公寓的每一个房间。解决这一问题的办法是拆除这间没有窗户的墙壁，并将厨房移到这一区域。

From this solution, the kitchen opened to the living room conforming a big open-plan living space full of natural light. The master bedroom was moved where the previous kitchen was located, the goal is to give natural light taking advantage of the mooring sun and to have natural air circulation inside the sleeping room.

从这一解决方案中，厨房向客厅开放，符合一个充满自然光的大开放计划的生活空间。主卧室被移动到前一个厨房所在的地方，目的是利用系泊太阳提供自然光线，并在卧室内进行自然空气循环。

An elegant colour palette of whites and neutrals makes the space feel calm, while a mix of natural materials add textural beauty and interest. The decor blends mid-century modern pieces with other contemporary choices.

优雅的白色和中性色调色板使空间感觉平静，而自然材料的混合增加了纹理的美和兴趣。这种装潢融合了世纪中叶的现代作品和其他当代的选择。
