The vision of the owner of Cicero, a bistro located in the Prati District of Rome, was to create a “home feeling”. This was the initial request for the designer Tommaso Guerra who chose to use Pastel colors paint, natural wood, joyful colors fabrics and decorations that one may find in any home. A large countertop equipped with high chairs is used as table and it separates the customers from the bartender, thus giving the impression of a home kitchen. The small, bar style tables, some of which traditionally sculptured, create a familiar atmosphere which invites you to breakfast or coffee. A decorative “nest” is made of peanut tree and sorghum branches and is place on the ceiling thus bringing nature inside. The nest, together with a collection of small bird houses, placed on a blanket of painted leaves create a picnic feeling. The ceiling is enriched with 55 handmade lamp shades made of cotton, having different forms, color and textures. The “home feeling” is underlined by many paintings and framed pictures, but also by library shape shelves.
