It is remarkable that young designers are looking for solutions to transform dump goods into home-use products. Many materials could be valorized and deserve a second life. This time, the turkish designer Meb Rure, from Istanbul, had the idea of recycling Nepal silk remnants and transform them into eco furniture such as chairs, Ottoman pieces and stools. This ecological, finely crafted furniture family is inspired by traditional sari costumes of Indian women.
The ethnically inspired design of this furniture intends to bring a warm and joyful atmosphere in any space. The balls made of colored silk, filled with sponge, are very comfortable and relaxing. The frames of the chairs and poufs are made of American white oak tree wood. These can be facilely transported as they are conceived to be easily assembled and disassembled.
