The Morgan Penthouse
Perched atop the The Morgan Residence, a mid-rise building designed by Robert Stern situated on Conduit Road in Hong Kong, this penthouse enjoys the rare unrestricted view of the vertical rock wall of the Victoria Peak Mountain.
This surreal, panoramic vista is framed by a necklace of solid white oak fins that wrap around the entire perimeter of the living room. These fins are overlaid against a 30-metre long Calico wallpaper on one side of the living room, creating a playful interplay between the two elements.
Two balconies lie at opposite ends of the living room. The balcony at the back end houses a full exterior living and dining space big enough for 12 people and is an almost identical reflection of the living room.
A complete series of bespoke, one-of-a-kind furniture pieces punctuate the space with an understated luxury, while a palette of cream, pale blue and green hues reference the mountainous landscape and the tinted windows of the neighborhood’s 1980’s-style buildings.
Keraton Residence
Keraton Residence
The Keraton Residence is an apartment designed for a young family of three with an avid passion for collecting art: essential in the designed outcome was a space in which they could display their growing art collection, as well as ample room to expand their future generations into.
The entry corridor was designed to be a space that houses the owner’s artwork the corridor transforms from a mere connector between rooms into a dynamic and evolving space in the home, eliminating the inefficiency and banality of the typical corridor. This became the main spine of the apartment that bridges common and private spaces, imbuing the living environment with an artistic flavor that is characteristic of the homeowners. A series of door portals and wall niches that connect rooms to the artwork corridor become the main language of the design: the contents of each room are framed by these portals, almost rendering them part of the artwork gallery.
Angullia Park Residence
Interior Design for a double volume living space and a second 3 bedroom apartment. An array of bespoke custom loose furniture and built in pieces.
Blossom Restaurant
Blossom Restaurant
Blossom Restaurant is a contemporary Chinese restaurant situated in the lobby of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore. The design straddles the restaurant’s oriental character and a contemporary design language. A line of seven modular pods of varying heights provide a visual and tactile encounter for patrons and passers-by. Bound aesthetically by a consistent language of white oak fins, they are integrated into an existing undulating platform, creating an architectural topography further accentuated by the pods’ slanting profiles.
Light fixtures mimicking Shanghai street lamps pepper the restaurant, adjusting patrons’ sense of scale within the huge atrium. Custom-designed solid timber chairs with curved backs influenced by Ming-style furniture and dining tables with clover-shaped bases that extend to the tables’ surfaces as a homage to the restaurant’s branding reflect the timelessness, sophistication and attention to detail that are woven throughout the restaurant.
Plum & Toro
Plum&Toro
The Plum & Toro Restaurant is a modern Japanese brasserie located in the verdant district of the Robertson Quay.Faced with the challenge of designing a space where two large areas are connected by a narrow passage, a dining area and drinking area is placed as programmatic anchors at different ends of the restaurant.
A long teak counter was inserted to connect the two ends and emphasize the length of the passage, while beveled mirrors and timber screens further elongates the space visually. Green marble, white washed oak and a backdrop of solid teak tubes forms a palette that references the natural hues of the riverfront landscape.
