Text description provided by the architects. This project was built as part of the student event MEDS, Meeting of European Design Students, during a two week period in August 2011 by a team of 18 students. This team was led by tutors Kieran Donnellan, Darragh Breathnach and Paul O'Brien. The concept for the pavilion involved the exploration of spatial concepts relating to religious typologies from the Western and Eastern cultures that have shaped Istanbul. This was in response to the event theme of 'Bridging Cultures'. The name of the project is inspired by its origins in religious typologies, but the intention was simply to create a space that offers repose.

 Elevations

这座展馆的位置就像一座希腊寺庙，大胆地坐落在突出的岩石露头上，让人们在当地海岸线上看到它长达数英里的距离。该景点的特殊自然特征，如小悬崖和茂密的野草地区，是最有利的优势，带领游客在展馆周围旅行，然后才能进入。

The pavilion occupies its site like a Greek temple, boldly situated on a prominent rock outcrop that allows it to be seen for miles along the local shoreline. Particular natural characteristics of the site, such as small cliffs and areas of thick wild grass, are used to best advantage in leading visitors on a journey around the pavilion, before gaining access.

到达入口后，小礼拜堂的长方形不再是强调周围景观不规则性的常规数据，而是折叠起来，以创造一个吸引人的门廊。

Upon reaching the entrance, the chapels' rectangular form ceases to be the regular datum highlighting the irregularity of the surrounding landscape, and folds in upon itself to create an inviting portico.

内部留下了希腊古典主义，而更倾向于土耳其清真寺类型的亲密关系。就像蓝色清真寺的低水平基准面和柔软华丽的祈祷地毯一样，教堂的下层王国邀请游客坐下来放松一下，给他们一个令人叹为观止的海景。房顶上的阳光在游客移动到座位上时给他们洗澡。在这一点上，人们开始意识到挡板环的意义，因为透过它们的轻微的观点模仿了从远处的野草中看到的。

The interior leaves Greek Classicism behind in favor of the intimacy of the Turkish Mosque typology. Just like the low horizontal datum, and soft ornate praying carpets of the Blue Mosque, the lower realm of the Chapel invites visitors to sit and relax, rewarding them with a stunning sea-view. Beams of sunlight from a roof light bathe the visitor as they move to take their seat. At this point one becomes aware of the meaning of the ring of baffles, as the slight views through them mimic that of looking through the wild grass beyond.
