The residence KGN was developed as a result of very special conditions defined primarily be located in a tropical mountain of difficult access, the religious needs of the clients of Indian origin, who are guided by the VaastuSastra (the spatial layout system linked to Hindu religious beliefs) and a dramatic and impressive site in the mountains of the coast line with primary forest, pristine waterfalls, tropical wildlife and unparalleled views.

The design process began in 2006 when customers, three doctors from India, came to ask us to design your holiday home in the South Pacific of Costa Rica, specifically in the town of Ojochal at a site located in the upper parts of a farm of 92 hectares in the Coastal Mountain Row, which is characterized by very steep, jungle-covered and panoramic sea view. From the first time gave customers complete freedom of design to our team with a very few but very important requirements, most of which were based on the ordering principles of space according to VastuShastra, the theory-centennial design concept in India ; design theory directly related to religious concepts and quality of life.

On reaching the house the main facade wall can not see the view but it gives the idea that there is to be suspended from the floor and separated from the ceiling. Finally it enters the house and immediately displays all the 180 degree view of the Pacific Ocean giving a feeling that the house is suspended in the air. All these elements made the building process was complicated and had to have an important logistics requiring storage of large amounts of materials on the site, workers permanent camp site, etc. ..As a last but very important factor was a house that was built on a site with a highly rainy weather, in an area that receives over 5000mm of rain per year. But finally managed to overcome all obstacles and managed to finish the home as designed and the characteristics sought by the client and our office.

The last step of the house was the restoration of natural landscape with tropical gardens have been carefully planned by the owner around the house all based on tropical species indigenous to the area and thinking about erosion control at the site.KGN residence turned out to be a very rewarding achievement as we connect with a number of unique features and client site, where they could run a project where all these elements flow and adapt to each other harmoniously. We achieved a contemporary house, sustainable, adapted to the benefits and features of the site and finally to cultural background and lifestyle of the client.
