Text description provided by the architects. Casa Diego Rivera is a residential project located in San Angel, in the south of Mexico City. The plot is rectangular and its dimensions are 10x20 meters.

Due to the plot dimensions, the main intention of the project was to increase the perspective and the sensation of exterior space.

With the limitation of the plot size, we proposed a longitudinal patio with one side in diagonal, that besides increasing the perspective, allows a greater uproot area, and makes the perception of the space seem bigger.

This sense of amplitude is emphasized in the ground floor through a great window in the living and dining area, integrating them to the exterior space.

The material used in the floor of the patio is washed concrete with white marble gravel filtered in place to achieve bigger boards, creating a sense of spaciousness and allowing the light reflection.

The upper level has another diagonal which frames the access and emphasizes the patio. This diagonal also gives a covered access to the house.
