架构师提供的文本描述。我们在2010年上海世博会上设计了一个展馆。这座建筑在20世纪70年代被用作工业工厂。我们把原来的工厂改造成展览中心，世博园区位于上海市中心，与黄浦江两岸隔开。几乎所有的国家展馆都是在浦东区设计的，一直到2000年代都是空荡荡的。另一方面，浦西区，也就是我们的网站，被用作工业区。因此，我们的设计开始考虑如何再利用一个旧的码头工厂。

Text description provided by the architects. We have designed a pavilion in Shanghai World EXPO 2010. This building was used as an industrial factory in the 1970s. We converted from old factory to exhibition centre.The EXPO site was situated in centre of Shanghai city and was separated both side of Huangpu River. Almost of all national pavilions was designed Pudong district that was vacant up to 2000s. On the other hand, Puxi district which is our site was used to use as an industry district. Therefore our design started to consider how we are going to reuse an old dock factory.

我们展馆的目的是展示一个可持续发展的城市的实际例子，我们的设计意图是尽可能多地使用现有的结构和材料，并将许多废料减少一半。在对现有建筑进行研究后，发现原墙需要拆除。这是因为它无法忍受。当我们拆除所有的墙壁，我们试图保持原来的砖块在网站，供以后使用。然后，这些原来的砖块又堆起了一些装饰和图案。此外，在屋顶上增加了屋顶窗，以获得阳光和自然通风，并将平顶形状重新设计为随机形状。

The aim of our pavilion is to exhibit a practical example for sustainable city.Our design intention is to reuse existing structure and material as much as we can use, and reduce many scrap materials by half. After we researched existing building we found that original wall needs to remove. It is because it can’t stand for. When we remove all walls we try to keep original brick in the site which use for afterward.  Then these original bricks were piled up again with some decorations and patterns. Moreover roof window is added on the top for getting sunlight and natural ventilation and dull flat roof shape was redesigned to random shape.

除结构柱和横梁外，另一座建筑物已拆除。然后将葫芦形状的空洞插入到现有结构中。这种葫芦形状促进了重力通风。/上海世博会结束后，这两座建筑都将用作展览中心。

One another building had removed except structure columns and beams. Then gourd shape of void was inserted into existing structure. That gourd shape promotes gravity ventilation./ Both building will be use as an exhibition centre after the Shanghai World EXPO was finished.
