就像越南文化象征莲花在水生环境中绽放一样，莲花亭是从反射池的景观元素中建立起来的，它突出了标志性花瓣形的亭子屋顶的纯粹形式。这个构建的每一层都是表示表面、形状或支撑的动态形式元素。它的顶点是一个六段拱形穹顶结构，由拱形花瓣状屋顶产生，顶部剥落，露出支撑桁架肋骨，在中间形成纵横交错的格局。

Just as the lotus flower, Vietnam’s cultural icon, blooms from an aquatic setting, the Lotus Pavilion builds up from the landscape element of a reflective pool to highlight the pure form of the iconic petal-shaped pavilion roof. Each layer of this build-up is a dynamic element of form expressing a play of surface, shape or support. It culminates in a six-segmented vaulted-dome structure that springs from the arching petal-shaped roof, which peels away at the top to reveal supporting-truss ribs that meet in a criss-crossing pattern across the center.
