The facility aims to advance patient care by furthering translational research, collocating the researchers and clinicians in order to break down the barriers between them. Social spaces including touchdown areas, conference rooms, cafés and a roof garden encourage further interaction, while a public gallery at street level promotes the hospital’s research to visitors and patients.

Designed to achieve LEED Gold certification, the Brigham Building for the Future is expected to complete in 2016.
