Text description provided by the architects. L’internat de la réussite (Nowadays French political communication term for a boarding school) is built on the grounds of the Henri Parriat High School in Montceau-les-Mines, France. The boarding school houses two different kinds of housing:
-一所专为高中前文凭学生而设的住宅,11间设有4张床,1间为残疾人士,2间为主管室。
- A house for pre-high school diploma students with 11 rooms of 4 beds, 1 room for disabled person and 2 rooms for supervisors.
-专为高中文凭学生建造的住房,有65间单人房,包括2间残疾人房间。
- A house for post high school diploma students with 65 individual rooms including 2 rooms for disabled persons.
-一些公用室、厕所和技术室。
- Some common rooms, toilets and technical rooms.

该项目的概念受到规划约束的影响:建设时间短、建筑功能和遵守城市规则。这个概念的基本部分仍然是在2D和3D中将项目整合到现场。
The conception of the project was influenced by the program constraints: short timing for the construction, functionality of the building and respect of the urban rules. The fundamental part of the conception remains turned toward integration of the project in the site in 2D and 3D.

The physical separation of the two bodies (pre high school diploma house / post high school diploma house) has to be recognizable in the final outcome of the project. This idea is translated in a two-body building, one following the street on the south, and one at a right angle creating a background and a limit to the high school grounds.

1.-一般卷
1. – General volume
这两卷书在一个微妙的建筑线中相互平衡。沿着南街的正门向西面对高中操场,回答对面正面(北)的断线。
The two volumes balance each other in a subtle play of construction line. To the regular facade along the southern street front and facing the high school playground on the west, answer the broken lines of the opposite facades (north & east), which enrich the volume dynamic. This general morphology resounds with existing buildings, writing in continuity with the founding lines of the site, enriching the general dynamic and procuring qualities to the interior spaces.

2.-正面
2. – The facades
立面的书写支持着音量的动态,通过一种与不同材质和对比相关的基本方向的游戏。南方
The writing of the facades support the volume dynamic, by a game with different kinds of materials and contrast in relation to the cardinal directions. The south & west façade, the heart of the high school are designed with wood, colors and solar protections while the north and eastern facades become outer layers, protective concrete shells.

在南方
On the south & west front, balconies induced by the structural grid ensure solar & rain protection for the façade: wood timber frame & square wooden sections. This writing on the south & west façade translates alternatively the opening of the building either toward the heart of the high school or the city. The boarding school is open to the high school and participates in the educational dynamic of the high school. The conception of the ground floors translates this attitude: the entrances are easily recognizable nested under the cantilever.

On the east and the north, on the contrary, the facade are “closed”, still dynamic, by the inflexions and movements of the broken lines of the walls. The different textures of the pre-cast concrete walls reinforce this effect between the textured aspect, which catch the shadow, and the luminous softness of the smooth ones. The building lives along the rhythm of the different daylights.

3.外层空间
3. The outer spaces
外部空间参与寄宿学校的功能和生活环境:-活动室的甲板是主要的外部空间,友好统一。它的位置,在建筑的中心,是学校集体生活质量的象征。-悬臂下的覆盖广场是介于外部和内部之间的过渡空间,是其功能的主要资产。
The outer spaces participate in the functionality and the living environment of the boarding school: - The deck of the activity room is the principal exterior space, friendly and unifying. Its position, in the heart of the buildings, is a symbol to the quality of collective life in the school. - The covered squares, under the cantilever, are transition spaces, between outside and inside, a major asset in its functionality.

4.内部空间
4. Inside spaces
除了要求之外,我们给予集体生活的内部空间比被要求的更多,这样共同的活动和亲密关系才能共存。公共空间就是这样设计的,连走廊也变得宜人大方。卧室,无论是普通的还是个人的,允许每个人见面,工作,睡眠和一些亲密的空间。
Beyond demands, we gave the inside spaces of collective life more than asked so that common activities and intimacy could live side by side. The common spaces are designed in that way, even the corridors become pleasant and generous. The bedrooms, common or individual, allow everyone to meet, work, sleep and appropriate some intimate space.

5. Materials, textures and colors.
材料的使用符合不同的目标,同时遵循建筑方案。主要目的是利用可缩短施工时间的施工程序:
The materials used answer to different objective while following the architectural proposal. The principal purpose was to use construction process that could reduce the construction timing:
-混凝土外墙是用预制隔离混凝土墙建造的:这一过程确保了快速建造;它们通过对热桥的良好控制提供了成功的外部隔离。因此,这种质量为以后的施工部分节省了时间。这些外观有很好的成品方面,无论是纹理或光滑,和一个伟大的耐用性。
- The concrete facades are built with pre-cast isolated concrete walls: this process ensures quick building; they provide successful outer isolation by an excellent control on thermal bridges. Consequently, this quality saves time for later parts of the construction. These façade have excellent finished aspect, either textured or smooth, and a great durability.
-木材框架结构立面是为西部和南部设计的,总是由混凝土框架保护,以确保其耐久性。这些面板的预制也参与了减少建筑时间的目标。
- The timber frame structure façade are designed for the West and the South, always protected by a concrete frame to ensure their durability. The prefabrication of these panels also participates in the time reducing objective of the construction.
