Text description provided by the architects. The most contentious part of this apartment in Barcelona, from the point of view of lighting and organization, is clearly the center. The areas in contact with the interior courtyards and the vertical core. The parts that are in contact with the facades are already ideally placed to work by themselves, and therefore do not need much renovation. So, we initially propose a dual approach to the project.

We needed to turn the conflict in the center into an area that not only works but is a fascinating and exciting area. And projecting the "do almost nothing" in other parts of the apartment.

The center is transformed into a landscape that contains 3 closed boxes with a music box, a bathroom-laundry, and bathroom-kitchen. A landscape where the movable elements are laid out freely and without a hierarchy. Elements that are used specifically and coexist with other elements in this common context. A landscape where the boundaries are not so defined, and more diffuse and interlaced contemporary dynamics are absorbed. A landscape that supports the multiple variations and transformations at the same rate that we can make them in more urban settings.
