Text description provided by the architects. BUILDING IN HIGIENOPOLIS

The Higienópolis district is characterized by a set of consolidated buildings almost predominantly built in the 50s and 60s. An expressive architecture, well built, and large apartments, with a significant green roof.

Itacolomi 455项目的目的是加强社区的作用，而不是否认这一点，而是向这一已建成的景观开放，同时允许该地区淹没其内部空间。

The Itacolomi 455 project seeks to strengthen the role of the neighborhood, not to deny it, but opening up to this built landscape while at the same time allowing the district to flood its interior spaces.

EARTH CONSTRUCTION

一种在一楼有双高的开放空间，表达了在建筑与周围环境之间建立一种关系的关注，就像一个延伸人行道空间的广场。它允许从室内空间看到街道，反过来，从街道上看到站点的全部范围，将用户放置在作为城市表面碎片的地块中。

An open space with double height on the ground floor, expresses concern in building a relationship between the building and its surroundings, like a square that extends the space of the sidewalk. It allows a view of the street from the interior space and, inversely, a view of the full extent of the site from the street, placing the user in the lot which is a fragment of the surface of the city.

一种纵向的木料卷，悬挂在这个空间上，里面有看门人和健身房。

A longitudinal volume clad in wood, hanging over this space, houses the caretaker and the fitness room.

垂直核心音量将地板组织起来，形成与街道相连的接待空间。这一卷有陶艺家Kimi Nii设计的液压瓷砖壁画，强调了这一空间与城市的关系。

The vertical core volume organizes the floor forming a reception space linked to the street. This volume has a hydraulic tile mural designed by ceramist Kimi Nii, underlining the the relationship of this space with the city.

后面的空间，更预留，有一个公共开放阳台和游泳池，25米长，加上一个花园。

The rear space, more reserved, houses a common open balcony and the pool, 25 meters long, plus a garden.

CONSTRUCTION OF INTIMACY

The apartments are open spaces, like double height voids where multiple arrangements can be set up, according to family size and lifestyle.

The vertical circulation block is a central volume that organizes the space defining a coexistence sector on the street and another more intimate towards the inner side of the lot.

Generous balconies either in the front or rear facade further strengthen the relationship between the apartment and the surrounding landscape, the tops of the trees, the longer views.

BUILDING CONSTRUCTION

它的基础同样重要的是建筑物的顶部，在我们城市的典型建筑中经常被忽视。钢筋混凝土的主体结构由一个互补结构完成，该结构符合一个特殊的住宅单元，从主体进一步后退。

As important as its base is the top of the building, often overlooked in typical buildings in our city. The main structure of reinforced concrete is finished off with a complementary structure that conforms a special housing unit, further set back from the main body.

The volume is also more transparent, free from the height of adjacent buildings, enjoying the surrounding landscape. It is protected by a wooden cladding which ultimately highlights it from the project. On the roof, a reflecting pool is an observatory of the city, the landscape and the sky.

这座建筑在设计上是通用的，由于它的灵活性而具有系统性，它通过与周围历史的对话而产生了具体的插入和隐喻。

This building, generic in design and systemic for its flexibility, is specific for its insertion and metaphorical by generating a dialogue with the surrounding history.
