Text description provided by the architects. Ca s’Ametller is a 19th-century house refurbishment where the space is designed after a need for flexibility of use. While most of the time it will be used as a holiday retreat for a couple, it can get to be a family reunion place as well a few times a year. This meant that the house and its space had to be fully enjoyable and adaptable to each case.
It consists of 5 open-plan spaces where 2 of these spaces are permanent and for common use while the other 3 can be split in half with pc walls. The house can adapt from being a 1-room house to a 4-room house and all the spaces fulfill a function at all times.

The design had to harmonize tradition and modernity. This way we combined local materials like ceramic tiles and whitewashed walls with sleek and modern solutions like laminated wood and pc. We kept the style of the stone facades but showed our intervention with the volume steel and PC facade.
