丹麦海洋博物馆是独一无二的，因为它通过空旷空间的概念来讲述一个故事。通过让干船坞无人填补和原有的墙壁不动，游客有足够的空间，以作出自己的个人解释的空间。荷兰展览建筑师Kossmann.dejong设计的整个展览也是如此。他们避免使用大量的文字，主要依靠光线、视角和声音引导游客穿过无墙画廊。丹麦海洋博物馆证明了，有时候，少说就多了。
